How we invest your money
Active management can add value
In some markets it’s possible for skilful professional active managers to outperform the broader market. This is possible because investment markets are generally inefficient, which means the actual market price of an asset, such as shares, aren’t always priced at their true value.
Active managers use their skill to exploit this difference. They do this by taking an overweight or underweight position in a particular asset, compared to a benchmark, depending on whether they believe the asset is undervalued or overvalued.
