Announcing a new insurer for death, disablement and income protection insurances

We’re always looking for new ways to best serve members and improve services. Last year we conducted an extensive review of the insurances offered to ensure members have the most appropriate insurance for their needs.

Following this review we’re happy to announce that we’ve appointed TAL Life Limited (TAL) as the new insurer from 1 April 2017. 

Why change?

TAL is one of Australia’s largest insurers and a leading insurance provider for the super industry. We’re excited to be partnering with such a forward thinking service focussed organisation.

With TAL coming on board on 1 April 2017, we’ll be working hard to implement some of the benefits of the new partnership as soon as possible. You’ll see a range of new online tools and other resources, which we’ll roll out gradually over time.

We’re not making changes to the terms and conditions of our insurances right now but we’re working closely with TAL on this at the moment. We expect to make announcements later in the year.

What happens if I’m being paid a claim now?

Nothing will change. You’ll continue to deal with and receive insurance benefit payments from our current insurers.

What about claims made after 1 April 2017 for injury or illness that occurred prior to 1 April 2017?

The claim will be assessed and, if successful, paid by our current insurers rather than TAL.
