What you will be doing

We have an exciting contract position available to assist our Executive Manager, Compliance, with:

  • Reviewing compliance policies, plans and programs within the Mine Group compliance framework
  • Monitoring policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and relevant
  • Conducting GAP analysis against Mine programs and external bodies Undertaking complaint investigations with a customer focus, making recommendations back to the Executive Manager and drafting responses to complainants
  • Legislation and regulatory requirement review, interpretation and making recommendations back to the Executive Manager

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will be able to "hit the ground running", with tertiary qualification or Financial Services industry experience in relevant discipline.  The ability to interpret and translate legislation and regulatory requirements into plan English is essential to be successful in this role.

Desired Experience Profile

  •  Compliance experience in a Financial Services industry is highly desired
  •  You are a highly ethical person with strong collaboration skills which will assist you to build multi-level relationships whilst upholding compliance standards

    What you will be doing  

    The Executive Manager (EM), Engagement strategically aligns and manages the delivery of high quality engagement across key stakeholder facing teams such as advice, employer and unions.  The EM, Engagement is responsible for implementing the business’s engagement and advice strategy framework, enduring link to growth and retention of business targets and outcomes.   

    There are two newly created EM, Engagement roles, which are state based in NSW (Newcastle) and Qld (Brisbane).  These positions have been designed to support the expansion and growth of our employer engagement and advice distribution strategy for our members and key stakeholders. 

    Your key responsibilities will be: 

    Working with the Chief Engagement Officer (CENO) to develop and deliver acquisition, retention and development strategies to secure Mine’s growth through the optimisation of current distribution channels and leveraging new opportunities within the market through stakeholders such as employers, advisers, unions and member interactions. 

    You will display a comprehensive understanding of the strategic direction of the engagement business unit to design and implement engagement and advice initiatives that drive organic member and employer growth, retention and satisfaction.  

    Work with various teams such as, the Strategy and Technology teams to develop, recommend and implement relevant and competitive end to end customer solutions and advice tools which promote positive experiences and advocacy for the Fund;  the CENO to design and implement omnichannel engagement strategies (including digital) that generate continuity of advice experiences relative to member and employer segment needs and wants; the CENO to develop and implement strategic and operational objectives relevant for the contact centre and support departments to achieve business targets and outcomes.  

    Who we’re looking for 

    The role requires someone who can demonstrate senior management experience of at least 10 years, preferably within a medium to large financial services organisation.   

    Essential Qualification Profile  

    • MBA or relevant post graduate studies at Masters level in Business/Superannuation/Financial Planning tertiary qualifications or equivalent business experience at senior superannuation management level to support the scope of the role  

    Desired Qualification Profile  

    • Diploma in Superannuation Management 

    • ASFA membership  

    • RG146 compliant (or commitment to undertake qualification) 

    • Authorised in accordance with company licensing requirements 

    Desired Experience Profile  

    • Demonstrated understanding of Advice business concepts, licensing and compliance requirements;

    What you will be doing

    This role is responsible for the delivery of scaled personal advice via telephone and video conference to Mine Wealth + Wellbeing members which is aligned with Mine Wealth + Wellbeing’s Strategy and key business outcomes.  Based in our Brisbane Office, this role reports to the Manager, Financial Advice (Qld).

    More specifically, this role is required to:

    • Deliver personal (scaled) financial advice to members of Mine Wealth + Wellbeing Superannuation Fund (video conference and telephone advice); 
    • Ensure effective communication with members to develop strong client relationships; 
    • Comply with Fund, regulatory, and licensing requirements in delivery of advice; 
    • Assist with the delivery of ongoing member advice communication and education, including seminars and workshops;
    • Use all approved financial planning tools available to prepare clear and concise Statements of Advice to members;
    • Work with Advice Support team to enable the preparation of advice that meets licensing compliance requirements; 
    • Ensure all advice documents are accurate prior to presentation to the member;
    • Maintain client files in accordance with the agreed business processes;
    • Respond to day-to-day service or advice related queries from members either by telephone, video conference;
    • Satisfy requirements of the annual training plan and maintain CPD register; 
    • Research and maintain technical knowledge of products and trends in financial planning, investment markets, industry and legislative changes to allow for the provision of complex superannuation and non-superannuation advice.

    Who we’re looking for

    This is an exciting opportunity for a new entrant into financial planning. You will have the support of working within a small group of senior financial advisers, fully supervised and professionally coached.
